The Spanish Aliona Bolsava, Lara Arruabarrena and Nuria Parrizas went to the eighth of the tournament in Bastad (Sweden), after winning their respective first round match in two sets. Bolsava defeated the Swedish Mirjam Björklund, 6-2, 6-2, and will face the American Katie Volynets in the second round.
Arruabarrena won (6-3 and 6-3) the Italian Giulia Gatto-Monticone, and will face the winner of the duel between the Swedish Rebecca Peterson, top favorite of the tournament, and the American Grace Min in the second round. Parrizas got rid of the American Varvara Lepchenko on the fast track, 6-4 and 6-2, and will face in the next round the eighth top seed, Australian Maddison Inglis.
