Besedin down for the rest of the Eurocup in Ukraine

Artem Besedin, who had to withdraw in the overtime of the round of 16 match between Ukraine Y Sweden, it will be low for the rest of the Eurocup in the team of Andrei Shevchenko.

Besedin, who had replaced Roman yaremchuk, was the target of a hard tackle at the height of his left knee by the Swede Marcus Danielson, who was sent off with a direct red by the Italian referee Daniele Orsato after going to the video.

The Dinamo Kiev striker had to withdraw from the grass of the Hampden Park stadium in Glasgow supported by two members of the Ukrainian national team's medical services and after the first medical examinations his continuity in the tournament has been ruled out.

According to sources in Ukraine, the first study carried out by the team's chief medical officer, Artur Glushchenko, revealed damage to various parts of his leg and it is suspected that the cruciate ligaments are damaged.

“A more precise diagnosis can be made after an MRI, but it is clear that an injury of this type requires long-term treatment that will not allow Artem to play in the near future,” said sources.

As such, it was decided to quickly transfer Besedin to Kiev, where he is already located, to be examined in depth and begin treatment at Dinamo.

Ukraine, who won with a goal in the last moment of extra time against Sweden (2-1), will face England on Saturday at the Olympic in Rome in the last match of the quarterfinals.
