Carlos Suárez ceases to be Honorary President

Real Valladolid has confirmed, through a statement, the termination of the contract of its Honorary President, Carlos Suárez, who ceases to hold this position as of this Wednesday, after twenty years of ties to the Blanquivioleta club.

Real Valladolid wanted to thank its former president for his commitment and the defense that, throughout his previous mandate and in his new position, he has exercised with respect to the interests of the entity and its subscribers.

Suárez became President of the Blanquivioleta club on May 11, 2001Initially, for a three-month temporary management but, ten years later, in 2011, it announced the acquisition of 58.09% of the entity's shares, to become the majority shareholder of the same.

The new president of Real Valladolid, Ronaldo Nazário, dismissed Suárez as CEO in August 2019, after acquiring 51% of the shares, but the one who has been the entity's longest-serving leader remained as Honorary President, a position that has also been revoked, according to the club, having expired the contract of the same.

Thus closes a stage in the white-and-violet entity, in which there have been lights and shadows in the more than 18 years in which Carlos Suarez He was at the forefront of it, with declines and promotions and with many unknowns about the stability of the club, which were dispelled after the arrival of the Brazilian star to the Presidency.
