2023 NFL period, Week 16: What Nous Learned from Games on Sunday

The NFL’s Week 16 schedule is broken out over four days. The first game is Thursday, when the New Orleans Saints host the Los Angeles Rams.

There are 10 games on Christmas Eve. The New England Patriots play the Denver Broncos in the last one.

On Saturday, there were two games. First, the Cincinnati Bengals went on the road to play the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Then, the Buffalo Bills went on the road to play the Chargers from Los Angeles. The NFL is giving fans all three Christmas Eve games this holiday season.

Finally, there are three games on Christmas Day. The Las Vegas Raiders play the Kansas City Chiefs, the New York Giants play the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Baltimore Ravens travel to Santa Clara to play the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football on ESPN and ABC.

This is the last game of the week. Check back here throughout the week for the latest odds and FPI predictions.

The 2023 NFL season is almost over. There are only three weeks left. Then we can look at the playoff rankings and make predictions, even though we know it’s impossible to do so.

At this point, only the Baltimore Ravens, the Dallas Cowboys, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the San Francisco 49ers have “punched their playoff tickets.” The 49ers have already won the NFC West.

In Week 16, wins by both the Detroit Lions and the Kansas City Chiefs would secure first place in their divisions.

Another thing that can happen is that the Miami Dolphins can make the playoffs if they beat the Dallas Cowboys.

There weren’t as many surprises in Week 8 of the NFL season as there were in Week 7, but there were still a lot of close games within the fourth quarter.

Twelve of the fourteen games played to the fourth quarter were tied by eight points or less, which is 85.7%. Seven of those games were won by a single point.

In the last two minutes about regulation or OT, the Carolina Panthers, the New York Jets, and the Seattle Seahawks all scored touchdowns that won the game. With the win, Seattle moved into first place within the NFC West.

It was another great game from McBride. In the loss to Baltimore, he had 10 catches for 95 yards and a score.

On Sunday, 14 passes were aimed at McBride. In the three games preceding this one, 25 passes have been aimed at him.

In the last three games, McBride has caught 17 passes for 186 yards and a score, giving him more than 60 receiving yards to two of them. Josh Dobbs is turning to him more and more lately, and Kyler Murray might too if he comes back.

Heinicke got to show the Falcons what he could do because Desmond Ridder got hit in the head.

By going 12 of 21 for 175 yards along with a touchdown (100.3 rating), the backup quarterback naturally got the offense going. He helped the Falcons score 20 points in the second half.

In the second half, the Falcons scored upon four out of six attempts. In the first half, they only scored once out of seven.

Thoughts on giving Heinicke a start going forward? There could be a quarterback debate in Atlanta.

This is one of the most talented teams in the NFL. Their top-10 offensive and top-2 defense work well together, and both are even better in the red zone.

Ravens are third in the NFL in both attack and defense in the red zone, with 67.6% and 35.0% apiece.

The Cardinals were 3 of 3 in the red zone on Sunday, which wasn’t good for the defense. On the other hand, the attack was 4 of 4 (3 of 3 in goal-to-go situations). There is balance in the red zone, but Baltimore seems to be the most balanced team there.
