2-0. Stuani drives Girona

Girona, Dec 10 (EFE) .- Girona climbed this Thursday to seventh place in the Smartbank League classification by beating Logroñés 2-0 in Montilivi with a double by Uruguayan Cristhian Stuani, in a duel pending the second working day.

In the first 45 minutes the local dominance was as timid as it was sterile and, in fact, no obvious scoring chances were recorded.

Logroñés took a step forward after the break, but the match turned in favor of the local side thanks to Cristhian Stuani.

In the 58th minute, the Rioja defense neutralized a clear chance by Mamadou Sylla, but Jordi Calavera returned the ball to the small area and Stuani appeared between the centrals to score the 1-0 in what was his first goal of the course.

Girona left the duel seen for sentence with the second goal from Stuani. In the 69th minute, the top scorer in the Second Division last year with 31 goals, completed a wonderful combination to make it 2-0.

The VAR annulled a goal to Logroñés shortly after. · File
