Benevento coached by Italian Filippo Inzaghi added their fifth consecutive game without a win on Friday after drawing 1-1 against Bologna, on the twenty-second day of Serie A.
Bologna took the lead seconds after the referee authorized the start of the match. An excellent assist from the 22-year-old Gambian Musa Barrow, one of the great promises of Serie A, allowed Italian Nicola Sansone to open the scoring in minute 1.
After taking advantage, the local team tried to annul their rival through possession and concentrated control of the ball. The timid attacks of Benevento failed to intimidate the Barça defense.
In the second half, Izhaghi's team recovered with a goal from Italian Nicolas Viola who took advantage of a magnificent ball from the Peruvian striker, Gianluca Lapdula to put the tables in the light. (m.60)
The Catalans were the ones who most insisted on breaking the tie, but they lacked precision in the last meters to keep the three points in their fiefdom.
With this result both teams are tied on points in the standings. Benevento continues without raising its head and in the next league matches will receive the sight of Roma and will face Naples at the Diego Armando Maradona.
Bologna, who beat Parma (3-0) the previous day, could not extend their winning streak and will face Sassuolo and Lazio in their next league matches.
