Week 9 of the Fantasy Football Rankings: sleepers, forecasts, starts, as well as sits | Chuba Hubbard, Jahan Dotson, as well as the rest

In most yearly and daily fantasy football leagues, point-per-reception (PPR) scoring is used to decide who wins in Week 9.

Every 10 yards gained on the ground or in the air earns you one point. Every 20 yards gained through passing earns you another point.

For touchdowns scored, you get six points, for touchdowns passed, you get four points, and for catches, you get one point.

The Raiders sacked coach Josh McDaniels, general manager Dave Ziegler, and offensive coordinator Mick Lombardi. This was the big news when most of you woke up Wednesday morning.

The team has a new acting head coach, Antonio Pierce, and an interim general manager, Champ Kelly. The quarterbacks coach, Bo Hardegree, was promoted to offensive coordinator.

Also, the Raiders put Jimmy Garoppolo on the bench in favor of youngster Aidan O’Connell. Pierce stated Wednesday that “it would be Aidan moving forward” as the starter at quarterback. Wow. Wow, really.

Fantasy ideas run through this a lot, and I hope this is a change over the better. This season, only Jakobi Meyers truly stood out with the Raiders. Josh Jacobs as well as Davante Adams have had a hard time.

Going forward, Jacobs is still almost certainly the best fantasy running back across all leagues.

His season average in PPR points is 13.9. In his last five games, he’s scored no fewer than 16.8 PPR points three times.

This week, I like Jacobs a lot against the Giants. The Giants just moved Leonard Williams to face the Seahawks and have let six running backs score no fewer than 15.8 PPR goals this season.

Adams has scored 14.9 PPR points per game so far this season, but in three of his last four games, he’s earned 8.5 PPR points or less. He has made it clear how upset he is, so let’s hope things get better now.

Adams caught eight passes for 75 yards in a single appearance with O’Connell in Week 4 against the Chargers.

And he will play well against the Giants in Week 9. The Giants have let six No. 1 receivers score at least 15.0 PPR points over their last seven games. This is a great place for Adams to get back on track at home.

Meyers is averaging 15.5 PPR points per game, which is the most of his career. He has done very well with Garoppolo.

Of Meyers’ four receptions, only two went for 33 yards in his only start with O’Connell, which came against the Chargers.

I’m still going to use Meyers as my No. 2 receiver in fantasy against the Giants in Week 9, and I hope he and O’Connell get along well. I don’t want to give up on Meyers after just one game via a new quarterback.

It was a risky day to be a NFL starting quarterback on Sunday, with more injuries than usual. But Kirk Cousins of the Vikings tore his Achilles, which will end his season.

The Vikings trade for Joshua Dobbs from Arizona, but they may start with BYU youngster Jaren Hall, who hasn’t played much yet. Fantasy doesn’t say either one is good.

At the same time, the Rams lost Matthew Stafford, the Atlanta Falcons lost Desmond Ridder, along with the Steelers lost Kenny Pickett.

We are still waiting to hear how bad the injuries are and how many games the players might miss.

The scores also show that there was good news at quarterback. Joe Burrow of the Bengals got 27.62 PPR points in tough San Francisco, which was the best game of his season.

He jumps back into the top 50 overall, but is still behind Justin Herbert of the Chargers and Tua Tagovailoa of the Dolphins.

Sam Howell of the Commanders scored the most points for the week, lighting up the Eagles once more, and moved up to QB2.

Titans rookie quarterback Will Levis had a great first game as a pro. He scored 26.62 PPR points and jumped into the top 25 of quarterbacks. Like Levis as well as Jordan Love? Give this a few more weeks!
