The playoff starts with good news for Elche: Óscar Gil, with the U21

The final for promotion to the First Division starts with good news at Elche CF. The youth squad Óscar Gil has made his debut on the squad list of the U21 national team announced this Thursday by the national coach Luis de la Fuente. The right-back culminates with the playoff and the call of Spain his great season, in which has been fixed on the right side of Pacheta and has premiered in the Second Division.

Óscar Gil, 22, will make his debut for Spain on September 3 in the qualifying match for the European Championship in Hungary and Slovenia, to be played in May-June 2021. The Spanish team postponed, like the rest of the European teams, the matchdays qualifiers from last March and returns to the pitch, with the match against North Macedonia, to be played in Skopje.

The soccer player from Elche has played, so far, 35 official matches and has scored a goal, against Rayo Vallecano, on the last day before the state of alarm was decreed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The side contract ends on June 30, 2021 and he is one of the players who has offers to be traded this summer. The player reached an agreement with sports director Nico Rodríguez to extend his contract for another year and raise the clause to four million euros, but owner Christian Bragarnik stopped him due to the high economic conditions that were included in the agreement. Its clause continues to be half a million euros.

More than 180 police officers make up the Elche-Girona security device

More than 180 troops, including agents of the Local and National Police, will ensure security in the game that will face this Thursday at Martínez Valero at Elche against Girona. In addition, the main access avenues to the stadium will be closed to traffic, from three hours before the match, and the perimeter of the sports complex's parking lot will be agreed so that no one can access the arrival of the buses.

The acting mayor of the Elche City Council, María José Martínez, and the Councilor for Citizen Security, Ramón Abad, have stated that “it is important to beat Girona, but even more so to beat COVID-19“for which he has asked the followers to stay at home and that, as far as possible, do not go to the bars to watch the game, avoiding crowds of people.

The City Council of Elche recalls the strict health security measures that have been implemented this week related to the hotel industry: prohibition of opening nightclubs, obligation of bars, nightlife and terraces to close before one in the morning or the prohibition of smoking on public roads if a distance of two meters is not met.
