The CSD will sign a General Action Protocol with the Spanish Society of Medical Oncology

MADRID, 4 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Higher Sports Council (CSD) will sign next Tuesday, February 7, a General Protocol of Action with the Spanish Society of Medical Oncology (SEOM) to “raise awareness of the benefits of physical activity” in cancer patients, announced this Saturday the president of the organization, José Manuel Franco.

“This Saturday marks World Cancer Day, and from the Higher Sports Council we wanted to convey this message of support to all the patients who are experiencing this disease,” Franco declared in a video on the CSD’s social networks.

The Secretary of State for Sport recalled that “regular physical activity is an effective way to prevent cancer.” “We also know that sport is a great ally during treatment and during the healing process of this disease,” he explained.

“For this reason, on February 7, the Higher Sports Council is going to sign a general protocol of action with the Spanish Society of Medical Oncology. In this way, we want to raise awareness, raise awareness and make visible the benefits that physical activity and sport have for patients and for the population in general. Against cancer, we must all go in the same direction,” he concluded.

The signing of the General Action Protocol for the promotion of sport in the prevention, detection and treatment of cancer between the CSD and the Spanish Society of Medical Oncology will take place next Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. in the Samaranch Room of the Superior Council of Sports.

The event will also feature a round table discussion between Dr. Miguel Ángel Seguí, Medical Coordinator of the SEOM Exercise and Cancer group; and Marisa Cots, president of the Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer Association (AMOH).
