Tebas believes that Florentino Pérez “confuses pears with apples” when comparing the NFL or tennis with football

MADRID, 2 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The president of LaLiga, Javier Tebas, replied this Sunday to the words of Florentino Pérez, Real Madrid’s chief executive, once again defending the Superliga project with “bar counter” data and confusing “pears with apples”.

The madridista president stressed during the Ordinary and Extraordinary Assemblies this Sunday that his club has “the responsibility to protect football” in the face of the delicate situation it is suffering and that for this reason it is necessary to launch a new competition like the one it leads together with FC Barcelona and Juventus.

In this sense, Pérez compared the duels that Rafa Nadal has repeatedly experienced with Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic to strengthen his argument about the need for them to play more continuously between the great teams in Europe, and lamented that the audiovisual income of the five major leagues, the Champions League and the Europa League do not exceed those of the American NFL, “which is played between September and February”.

Javier Tebas did not take long to respond through his official ‘Twitter’ profile where he assured that the president of Real Madrid “confuses apples with apples comparing other cultures (NFL) and sports (Federer/Nadal)”. “His data and market analysis of him is bar counter. Florentino Pérez, do not protect us!”, He asserted.
