Tapia will not play against Villarreal

The Peruvian Renato Tapia will not be able to play the next LaLiga Santander match against Villarreal on January 8 after receiving the fifth yellow in the defeat of his team, Celta de Vigo (2-0), in his visit to Real Madrid in the Alfredo di Stéfano.

It will be the first meeting of the course in which the midfielder does not participate. In the league competition, the 17 commitments as a starter. And 18 minutes in the Copa del Rey duel. An indisputable footballer for both the Spanish Óscar García and the Argentine Eduardo Coudet, the two coaches that the club has had this season, enjoying great prominence in his first season in Spanish football after his high level at the Dutch Feyenoord.

Among the best ball retrievers in the League, 105 until the match against Real Madrid according to LaLiga data, Tapia will have to watch the match against Villarreal from the stands, so, however, he could enjoy more minutes in the Cup next January 5 against Ibiza.

This yellow card was the negative note of his match against the team led by the French Zinedine Zidane. In Coudet's offensive scheme, with only one midfielder to contain, the Peruvian did a good job of putting pressure on Croatian Luka Modric, Ballon d'Or in 2018.

In addition, he showed that, although he is in charge of the demolition work, he also knows how to build and hold the ball in risky situations, such as when he ran the 35th minute of the game and the Spanish Lucas Vázquez and the French Karim Benzema jumped to pressure him. Tapia used his body, held the ball and unloaded the band; a ball displacement in which he insisted if his team could not find the Spanish Denis Suárez to generate play.

The Peruvian gave the scare after complaining about his right ankle after cutting a game change by Brazilian Carlos Henrique Casemiro, but limped for a few moments and recovered, being able to recover normally to complete the 90 minutes that ended with a bad taste in his mouth due to the defeat .
