Tajikistan becomes Rayo Majadahonda

The search for talent increasingly reaches more remote places or with less football tradition. Scouts and sports directors comb anywhere on the planet looking for any promising youngster who makes his way, especially in places where it is not usual to find high-level footballers, since there are more opportunities to get ahead of any competition. Soccer in Tajikistan became globally popular when at the end of last March, almost a year ago, its league was practically the only one on the globe that was still in the running out of tune the pandemic. For almost a month their matches were the little that could be seen live in the hardest phase.

Never has a player from that Asian country made his debut in the Spanish First Division, but there is a young man who wants to become one of the best impulses for football in his country and has committed to Rayo Majadahonda to try. The Madrid team is going to sign one of the best soccer promises in Tajikistan. This is Amadoni Kamolov, 18 years old who arrives from Istiplol. This winger arrives to join the youthful Majariego with the intention of immediate promotion to the second team of Second B. Kamolov is a very expensive attacker, with a lot of skill in one against one, fast, vertical and determined. Spanish scouts have him on their agenda since he met Spain in the U-17 World Cup. There, for example, a great game took place against the Spain of the Pedri, Germán Valera, Pablo Moreno, Robert Navarro or Ilaix Moriba playing on the left in the opposite direction. Kamolov started at the soccer school of the Tajikistan federation at the age of seven. In 2018 he signed his first professional contract with Lokomotiv Pamir FC to play for their subsidiary. In 2020 he went to Istiqlol and at 17 years and 85 days he made his debut in the First Division, later proclaiming himself league champion. International in all the lower categories of Tajikistan, he has been a finalist in the AFC Championship in the U-16 and U-19 categories. In 2019 he was part of that team that played against Spain in the last U-17 World Cup, where he played three games and was precisely eliminated at the hands of our national team.

The player has been recruited by RGfootball, a Spanish company that closely follows talent in the most remote parts of the football scene. Kamolov's arrival in Spain is seen in his country as one of the best steps for a country where football is also making headway. Kamolov will land with his family this next week in Spain to start training.
