MADRID, 24 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish rowers Jaime Canalejo and Javier García have been proclaimed runners-up in the world after finishing second in the final of the men’s coxless two (M2-) at the Rowing World Championship, which is being held in Racice (Czech Republic).

The Sevillians maintained their second place from the start of the test, in which they hurried their options but in which they could not beat the Romanians Marius Cozmiuc and Sergiu Bejan, who won the gold medal with a time of 6:28.06.

With a time of 6:29.27, the Spanish boat took silver, while the British Oliver Wynne-Griffith and Thomas George (6:30.86) completed the podium by finishing third.

In this way, Canalejo and García continue their growth, which has led them to be an Olympic diploma in Tokyo and win the bronze medal in the past European Championships in Munich (Germany). Both qualified for Final A on Thursday after being first in all heats.

This Sunday, Spain will seek to hang more medals. Aleix García and Rodrigo Conde, silver at the European Championships in Munich, finished first in the semifinals of the double scull (M2x) and will try to be crowned in the final on the same day that Virginia Díaz will also compete in the women’s skiff final, which she achieved the pass as second on Friday.
