“I could have signed Mbappé for free”

Much is being said about the future of Mbappé, however Arsène Wenger has revealed a key to the past of the PSG forward, praised for his performance at the Camp Nou.

The French coach says that when he was at Arsenal he could have signed the Frenchman without paying a single euro for his transfer.

“We can talk about Mbappé. I was at his house when he was not convinced to renew his contract with Monaco ”, said the Alsatian on beIN Sports. “I could have come to Arsenal for free. I would say that all clubs are full of stories like this, “Wenger added.

The former Arsenal coach indicated that Mbappé is “at the level of Leo Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo.” “He had a great night (at Camp Nou”.

It is not the first time that Wenger assures that he could sign a crack. In fact he remembered what happened with Cristiano Ronaldo. He (Cristiano) was very close. The bad luck was that Carlos Queiroz went to United and within a week he convinced Ferguson to sign Ronaldo ”.
