Aperribay: “I think we are going to win here and there”

“I think we are going to win here and there.” They are words of Jokin
Aperribay ETB before the game that this afternoon faces Real Sociedad against Manchester United in Turin, the first leg of the round of 32 of the Europa League. “It is a difficult tie, but I am convinced that we are going to pass,” adds the president of the Real, even more grown after his conversations with Imanol and the squad: “When you have contact with the coach and the players, you are even more convinced.”

Aperribay He does not look for excuses for having to play at home at the Allianz Stadium in Turin because of the coronavirus. However, he does acknowledge on Radio Marca Donostia that “I feel a bit in exile, missing a preview in San Sebastián with the Txuri Urdin fans, but grateful to Juventus for their exquisite treatment in organizing this match.”

This could have been Anoeta's first major international match with 35,000 members

It is estimated that the Real will spend around 140,000 euros for having to travel and not being able to play in Donostia; but the president regrets another aspect: “It's a shame because this could have been the first great international match for Anoeta with 35,000 members.” For all this, he focuses the meeting with the fans stuck in his mind: “Let's see if we give them joy by winning the game.” Nor has he wanted to complain too much about the need to travel both to play the first leg and the return leg: “With all this suffering of businesses and people due to the pandemic, we have no right to complain about having to abide by the rules and play in Turin ”, he states.

Aperribay has not wanted to delve too much in technical or sporting details and less in those of United, which faces the game without Cavani, Go
of
Beek Y Pogba, with the doubt of Martial Y McTominay and with a possible second unit: “They have significant casualties, but we have to do our thing. If we start thinking that the opponent is weak, we start badly. These types of clubs can cover their losses well, they have squads with important players, although despite this I think we are going to win ”, he announces.

Januzaj's future

For his part, the top leader has asked for “time” to be able to focus on the renewal of Adnan Januzaj, to whom the club has already transferred that it wants to renew him ”:“ We are talking about a great player, who has been in Donosti for a long time, who already it is adapted, we will see its future in the coming months ”, he says.

Januzaj is a great player who is already adapted; we will see its future in the coming months “
