Gavi and Araújo, the other pending renovations

After inaugurating the billion-dollar club with the renovations of Pedri (until 2026) and Ansu (until 2027), shielded with that billion-dollar amount, and apart from the negotiation with Dembélé, Barça has been trying to close the renovations of Gavi and Araújo for a few weeks. The very young midfielder, 17 years old, has a contract until 2023 and a clause of 50 million. Still with a subsidiary file, like Nico, the club tries to extend his contract in terms similar to those of the Galician, which in May renewed until 2024 with a clause of 500 million euros. The club, if it can, will even make him a longer contract.

Araújo also has a contract until 2023. His market value, like Gavi’s, is also around 25 million euros and his representative, Flavio Perchman, recently assured that the expansion would be solved before the end of 2021.

With the renovations of Gavi and Araújo, Barça would finish shielding its young talents, since this summer it also renewed Alejandro Balde until 2024. The left-back, of Guinean and Dominican origin, has, like Nico, a clause of 500 million euros. In the shields there are also the keys to the economic steps in which Pedri and Ansu will move, on the one hand, and Araújo, Nco and Gavi on the other. Of all the talents, the only one who flew was Ilaix Moriba, whom his agents convinced not to renew and fly to Leipzig. Even so, Barça, with the continuity of Gavi and Ansu, will ensure the continuity of six footballers who may be key in the future of the club together with newcomer Eric Garcia, who is there until 2026.

Gavi has been the sensation of the year at Can Barça. The midfielder wowed Koeman on the preseason tour of Germany. The departure of Ilaix also opened the doors and the boy from Los Palacios, who already came with the best references in the Youth, has earned a place in the team and in Barça’s future project. Araújo, a discovery by Ramon Planes, is also already established in the first team although, in his case, he must carefully monitor his history of injuries. Since he debuted, it has been difficult for him to have continuity. Otherwise, it would already be indisputable in the first team of Barça.
