Doña Letizia, despised: the ambassador of the Republic of Iran denies her greetings at the Royal Palace

The king and queen attended the traditional reception for the Diplomatic Corps at the Royal Palace in Madrid on Monday. A solemn act that has been held for the first time without restrictions after the years of pandemic and that has resulted in an ugly anecdote that has gone viral on social networks: the ambassador of the republic of Iran, Hassan Ghashghavihe has denied his hand to Mrs. Letizia.

In the images you can see how the diplomat extends his hand towards the king philip respectfully and then takes it to his chest to greet the queen, without making physical contact with her. Since the 1979 Islamic revolution, Iranian men have been prohibited from shaking hands with women in public and Ghashghavi has not wanted to break his customs, not even for a queen in such a major act.

Doña Letizia has endured the type with a serious rictus, visibly annoyed by the slight and impassive before the skimmed greeting of the Iranian diplomat, to which she has not responded.

The event was also attended by the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares.

Doña Letizia has entered the Throne Room with her husband, King Felipe, with whom she was chatting animatedly before taking a seat to her left. The queen has complied with the protocol (jacket for men and long dress for women) with a two-piece set made up of a white blouse with an XL bow by Carolina Herrera and a long baby pink skirt with a flowing fall at the waist. An outfit in the purest Rania de Jordan style that the queen has defended with great elegance. As a complement, some four-stone earrings from Tous, in addition to the ring that he wore for the first time at Military Easter, a piece from the Italian firm Coreterno, inscribed with the words ‘Amor che tutto move’ (love moves everything), a quote Inspired by Dante Alighieri’s ‘Divine Comedy’, and ‘As long I’m existing you will be loved’.
