De Gea takes it out at United

David de Gea has lived a roller coaster in his journey in the English league since signing in the summer of 2011 for Manchester United. Almost 10 years later, the Spanish goalkeeper has suffered from it all. He has seen how a transfer almost made to Real Madrid in 2015 was truncated; what was the objective of the continuous taunts for 'stealing' a donut; how he was constantly criticized after each game of the red devils or how it was renewed at the stroke of a checkbook. It has even driven away ghosts around his figure. The critical voices (with Alan Shearer and Gary Neville at the helm) that begged Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to seat De Gea, now compliment him. Not only has he done it with good performances, sometimes punctuated with childish mistakes, but little by little he hase has made its own history at England's most successful club.

Manchester United legend

De Gea is the goalkeeper who has worn the United shirt the most times in its history (424), still far from Ryan Giggs' 930. Not only that, but has entered the Top-5 of the players with the most Premier League matches defending those of Old Trafford. He beat a legend like Roy Keane last weekend to fifth with 327 games. Only three members of the Fergie Boys (Giggs, Scholes and Gary Neville) and the precocious Wayne Rooney treasure more crashes with the United elastic. It seems simple but on a path as stony as the one De Gea has encountered, it has its merit. And he's only 30 years old, so he still has a good handful of campaigns left at a good level.
