Dani: “Hopefully 70-80% of the first team comes from the quarry”

In a private act, Dani Sánchez Llibre has staged his return to the club. And he has done it in the same way he started with, sponsoring the entity’s grassroots football. All the shirts of the quarry will wear the Dani logo, a brand and a person always linked to the blue and white entity.

“It is an important sponsorship,” began Josep Maria Duran, CEO. “It symbolizes many things: the union that exists and that parrots help each other. We are happy that the Sánchez Llibre family has decided to bet on Espanyol”He added. He assisted Sant Adrià in his years as president, one of the characteristics of his mandate was to build the Sports City in 2001 and protect countless homegrown players who made it to the first team.

“I have always been a man of grassroots football, that’s what I liked. When I entered as a counselor, I collaborated a lot with Manel Casanova. Hopefully 70% -80% of the first team comes from grassroots football. The more you work, the more players can be in the first team“said Dani, who later posed with three base players including Gori, one of the pearls of the subsidiary who is already training with the first team.

Dani was president until 2011 when he ceded command to Ramon Condal and later to Joan Collet, maximum representative of the club with the shareholder support of Dani and Condal until the purchase of the club by Chen Yansheng in January 2016. Since then, Dani has been introduced as an “outside advisor” to the Rastar Group owner, joining a good friendship forged in the share sale agreement. Now, five and a half years later, Dani is no longer in the shadows. His name is once again linked to Espanyol.

“In the worst moments grassroots football always saved us. We have to shine this pearl. We are proud and the sponsorship is visible,” said Duran. “My family, Mao and Collet have influenced. And also Chen. All parrots owe one to Chen, and he has had a lot to do as well,” he concluded.
