Carlos Sainz: “The smallest detail can make the difference in Monaco”

MADRID, 25 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish driver Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) stressed this Thursday that “the smallest detail can make the difference” during the Monaco Grand Prix, the seventh round of the Formula 1 World Championship, on a short and vibrant track where ” always” has “good feelings”.

“Of course I would have liked to race in Imola, but unfortunately canceling the race was the only option given the level of devastation in Emilia-Romagna. With the news of the cancellation on Wednesday, in Maranello, we immediately started preparing for this weekend. , where the smallest detail can make a difference”, said Sainz at a press conference.

“I always have a good feeling in Monaco. For the last two years I’ve finished second, so it’s just a matter of improving,” said Sainz in a relaxed tone. “In previous seasons, the team has always been strong here and now I want to go into the cockpit to see if it will also be the case with the SF-23,” he added about it.

“Of course another team has to be favourites, but this season we have always been quite competitive on Saturdays,” he stressed, to later downplay the blow he received in a charity football match. “It was just a bump. I’ve had some painkillers and I’m absolutely ready to get in the car. The only way I’m going to miss this race is if I get hit by a truck!”, he has joked.
