Beñardo García, Honorary President of CD Bidasoa and its top leader in one of its most successful eras, has died at the age of 75, as confirmed this Monday by the Guipuzcoan team on its website.
“It pains us deeply to break this news. Our Honorary President, Beñardo García, has died at the age of 75. We only have words of gratitude towards him and his work for the Bidasoa Sports Club. Under the presidency of Beñardo García, Bidasoa Irún achieved many of its greatest successes, especially the historic European Cup in 1995. In addition, the Basque team won two league titles, the first in its history in 1987 and the one in 1995, the 1997 Cup Winners' Cup or the 1991 and 1996 Copas del Rey.
