BE: the Government will not let Las Palmas play with the public

The Government will not authorize the Las Palmas-Girona match to be played with the public, as suggested by the president of the Canarian team, Miguel Ángel Ramírez. Health considers it impossible that on that date the stadium of Gran Canaria could be opened even for a third of its capacity, as revealed by El Larguero, from Cadena SER.

Healthcare believes that it is highly unlikely that this season a match with the public can be played and in the Federation there are also reserves, because the equality of conditions for all the teams would be broken.

However, Miguel Ángel Ramírez insisted on SER that the club will fight for this possibility, because understands that once Gran Canaria is in phase 3 the matter is the responsibility of the Canary Islands Government. “There will be an audience if they leave us. I spoke with my regional president and the sole command will be the Canary Islands Government since the health authority in phase 3 will be the Autonomous Communities as the Prime Minister said last Sunday, “said Ramírez.

The president of Las Palmas assured that he has followed the line that he had to follow and that you don't want to face anyone: “I have discussed it with LaLiga this morning, with Javier Tebas. Once the Delegated Commission ended, and Thebes told me that they do not have powers to prohibit but he said that they would help me with the protocol to put fans in the stadium and thus convince the autonomous government. He has raised it where he had to raise it, in LaLiga. They will pass it on to CSD. I have spoken with the Government of the Canary Islands, which will be competent in sanitary measures. SIf they do not agree, we will not face anyone, but we propose a solutionAlthough it would not be the full capacity of the Insular stadium, but the 30% that is allowed in the territories in phase 3: “We have a capacity of 33,000 spectators, 33% are 11,000 fans and we have 11,000 subscribers. The entry would be for the 11,000 subscribers

Ramírez confessed that the main cause of the petition is to help the Canary Islands tourism move forward: “Here we depend on tourism and there is nothing better than to tell the world that COVID-19 does not affect our land and that is why they can watch soccer. You have to help push this land forward. Show the world that you can come to the Canary Islands as a tourist destination in the future
