The former cyclist organizes live classes with whoever wants to connect every afternoon. Other athletes, such as Marc Roig, physical therapist at Eliud Kipchoge, join the initiative

It all started by surprise. On Sunday morning, hours after the Government decreed the state of alarm, Alberto Contador commented on his Instagram that in the afternoon he was going to do an hour of roller, exercise bike, and that he would broadcast it live on the same network social so that whoever wanted to could follow the session: the changes of pace, when to get up … The success was resounding. Thousands of people connected to the session and among all they were encouraged to finish a training that, alone, could be boring.

The former cyclist, winner of Tour, Vuelta and Giro, now a commentator on Eurosport, soon recognized the follow-up of his initiative and decided to organize himself to make it daily. This Monday, he returned to the roller to become the spinning teacher of thousands of followers and this Tuesday he returned, with a time change -now to be at 7:00 p.m.- and with the movement's hashtag: #YoentrenoconContador.

Contador's proposal has sparked such interest that, as with the musicians who organized various festivals since confinement, other athletes have joined in their disciplines. Eliud Kipchoge's physical therapist and training partner, Marc Roig, for example, connects every day at 4 p.m. from his home in Kenya to lead a training session for 30-minute runners and other professionals prepare to do something similar.

Beyond the personal trainers that for years have been offering videos on YouTube or Instagram on how to keep fit at home or with little material, now they are the benchmarks of the sport, those who truly know the limits of the human being, who offer their tricks to the public confined to their homes. To stay healthy and in good shape on these difficult days will be an excellent help.
