Vasek Pospisil received harsh criticism for his behavior during the Miami Open first round match against American Makenzie McDonald, when at the end of the first set he exploded violently, broke his racket and seriously insulted the president of the ATP, Andrea Gaudenzi (he called him a “fucking asshole”). The Canadian reacted in this way due to a set by the party, although in the background was the discussion he had had with the leader during a telematic meeting.

Pospisil, who publicly apologized for that incident, is a very active tennis player in union issues and during the pandemic he set up a chat on Instagram in which he spoke with some of his teammates about hot topics on the circuit, and his attitude shows that at this moment the atmosphere that is breathed is not one of tranquility and that the conflict between the powers that be of the racket sport and its main protagonists is in full swing.
