MADRID, 10 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Unai Emery’s Aston Villa has advanced to the fourth round of the FA Cup after coming from behind this Friday against West Ham (2-1) in the first game without Julen Lopetegui on the bench, while Wycombe, a team from the third category , gave the surprise by eliminating a ‘Segunda’ like Portsmouth (2-0).
Goals from Amadou Onana and Morgan Rogers in the second half, in just five minutes, allowed the ‘villains’ to turn around Lucas Paquetá’s early goal for the ‘Hammers’, where Graham Potter made his debut as coach of the London set.
The Brazilian international opened the scoring just nine minutes after the opening whistle with a low shot that surprised ‘Dibu’ Martínez, a reward for a first half at Villa Park in which the visitors were superior. Onana equalized the contest in the 71st minute by hunting down a rebound in the area, and Rogers made it 2-1 in the 76th minute.
For its part, Wycombe, from League One, made a splash by knocking Portsmouth, which plays in the Championship, out of the competition (2-0). Brandon Hanlan, after the quarter-hour mark (min.17), and Sonny Bradley, just before the half-hour mark (min.27), scored the goals for the local victory at Adams Park.
