Koepka warms up Ryder: “Rahm acts like a child”

MADRID, 29 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The American golfer Brooks Koepka stated this Friday that the Spanish Jon Rahm “acts like a child” and “pouts”, after suffering the Basque’s success on the first day of the Ryder Cup, where Europe finished with a 6.5- 1.5 over the United States.

Koepka was stung in the interview after his ‘fourball’ match with the gestures of his rival or what he understood as luck, of Rahm on the 18th hole. The one from Barrika hit the ball hard and hit the ” board” to fall into the hole. “It is what it is, act like a child, we are adults, we move on,” he said.

The American, the only LIV Golf player present at the Ryder in Rome, has faced off against Rahm on big stages in 2023. The Spaniard beat the American at the Augusta Masters, where he overcame four strokes behind on an epic Sunday of 30 holes.

Afterwards, Koepka retaliated in the PGA Championship, but on Friday afternoon it was unfortunate to see victory slip away because of two ‘eagles’ by Rahm in the last three holes. The Spaniard was paired with the Dane Nicolai Hojgaard, while Koepka was accompanied by the world number one, Scottie Scheffler, who also had a good poker face.
