Raúl Campos plugs Spain on its way to the Futsal World Cup

The national team signs a second golden victory against Italy

MADRID, 20 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish futsal team beat Italy (1-0) this Wednesday with a goal in the last minutes by Raúl Campos, a second victory in two days of the Elite Round qualifying for the 2024 Men’s World Cup.

Spain won at the Palacio Multiusos in Guadalajara after a first victory on Friday (0-3) against the Czech Republic in Prague, thanks to a goal from the captain with just over three minutes left that represents the lead in Group D.

Albert Canillas’ men, replacement for an absent Fede Vidal due to a health problem, generated many dangerous arrivals, especially in the second half. The first was more of an exchange, with Italy pressing after 10 minutes and with the ball stopped. Adolfo and Catela gave the local reply.

At the restart, the Spanish dominance was greater, but the Italian wall was unbreakable until Campos was left alone in a quick transition from Spain, and did not forgive a 1-0 that could be worth gold on the way to the next World Cup.
