world day of Red Cross and the Red Crescent. An act in which volunteering, collaboration, commitment and heart have been valued. Lady Letiziaas honorary president of Spain, has awarded this year’s Gold medals in an act that took place at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid on Tuesday, May 30.
It has been a beautiful ceremony in which Almudena Reguero, as host of the act, has launched words such as “respect”, “will” and “emotion”. The Red Cross Gold Medals of this edition recognize the work of the Ukrainian Red Cross, the Spanish Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology; from the cancer research team of the Barcelona Biomedical Research Institute; the Reinforcement Brigades in Forest Fires and the Magazine Ethic. After the medals were awarded, the Queen took the floor in a speech that she started in Ukrainian: “Welcome to Spain!”, she gave the president of the Ukrainian Red Cross. Later, the wife of Felipe VI, from memory, without looking at the script and with a professional tone, spoke of commitment and volunteering: “Anyone in a situation of vulnerability, illness, violence, inequality, risk of exclusion, need, discrimination, loneliness has an answer in the Red Cross, a friendly voice and an outstretched hand”.
For this act, the Queen has launched an ethnic print in multicolor cobalt blue, orange, purple and fuchsia pink. It’s about a print of the traditional Majorcan languages in a shirt dress with hidden buttons, with a matching belt and long sleeves. A structured design for a daytime event that follows the pattern of so many shirt dresses in her closet. She has combined it with a fuchsia bag from Carolina Herrera.
