Sinner takes off with the title in Montpellier

MADRID, 12 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner won the ATP 250 category tournament in Montpellier (France) on Sunday, beating American Maxime Cressy (7-6(3), 6-3).

The 21-year-old player thus achieved the seventh title of his record, in eight finals, and opened the 2023 account. The Italian, who is already taking off in a new season, scored a tight final against the gunboat Cressy after one hour and 36 game minutes.

Sinner, who will return to the ‘Top 15’ in the world on Monday, took the first set in the ‘tie-break’ with his rival’s first mistakes and, in the second, achieved the only ‘break’ of the final in the eighth game to achieve the advantage with which he would raise his arms.
