MADRID, 10 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
adidas presented this Friday the ‘UWCL Pro Ball Eindhoven’, the official ball of the knockout phase and the final of the 2022-23 Women’s Champions League, inspired by the “innovative architecture” characteristic of the Dutch city of Eindhoven, where The final of the competition will be held on June 3.
The sphere features a dark blue background that represents “the vibrancy of the city at night”, with neon details that serve “as nods to the association that Eindhoven has as the ‘City of Lights'”. “Each iridescent neon graphic represents illustrious landmarks and famous features found throughout the city, including Eindhoven Stadium, The Evoluon and a bold, colorful light bulb,” adidas notes. The distinctive pearlescent white stars of the Champions League stand out against the fluorescent borders.
Global Brand Marketing Director-adidas Football, Matthew Davidson, was pleased with the way adidas has “captured the city’s iconic cultural architecture and artistic nature. “There is still a long way to go for the teams who will play the final in Eindhoven, so we hope this ball will inspire them on that journey,” he said.
The ball features advanced adidas performance technology, including an innovative PRISMA surface texture that delivers precision on the ball. The outer texture coating, found on all official Champions League balls, offers secure grip and complete control, while the seamless, thermally bonded construction is designed for maximum performance.
In addition, adidas, in association with Common Goal, will donate 1% of all global net sales of balls, contributing to initiatives that enable “lasting social change for underserved communities, helping to create a better and more inclusive future through soccer”. The ‘UWCL Pro Ball Eindhoven’ is available from this Friday, with a price of 150 euros for the pro edition, in adidas stores and on its website.
