MADRID, 23 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish tennis player Pedro Martínez could not qualify for the quarterfinals of the San Diego tournament (United States), scoring for the ATP and which is played on a hard court, after falling this Thursday against the Colombian Daniel Elahi Galán 5-7 , 6-1, 6-4.
The Valencian player, fourth seeded in the event and exempt for this reason from the first round, could not come out of a tough match lasting almost three hours decided in the final stages of the third and final set.
Thus, with 4-3 in his favor, Martínez did not take advantage of his option to make a ‘break’ and in the following game, Galán did break his serve and later sentenced his pass to the penultimate round of the Californian tournament.
