De Miñaur returns to the winning circle with the title in Atlanta

MADRID, 1 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Australian tennis player Alex de Miñaur beat American Jenson Brooksby (6-3, 6-3) this Sunday to win the Atlanta (United States) tournament for the second time, in the ATP 250 category and played on hard court.

De Minaur, who had to come back from a set down in the quarterfinals and semifinals, triumphed in the last match with much less problems in an hour and a half of the final. The Australian, champion in Atlanta in 2019, thus conquers the sixth title of his career and the first since June last year in Eastbourne.

The Australian tennis player saved the two break balls he had against in the first set, in the third game, and broke in the sixth to achieve an advantage with which he stayed the set. Brooksby held his own in the second act, and even responded to a ‘break’ in an early exchange of breaks.

However, in the moment of truth, the local idol, in search of his first title in his third final, could not defend his serve against a De Minaur who won the final by winning the last four games in a row.
