Hugo Grenier and Mirra Andreeva, champions of the Open Castilla y León Villa de El Espinar

MADRID, 1 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The French tennis player Hugo Grenier was proclaimed this Sunday champion of the Open Castilla y León-Villa de El Espinar, in the XXXVI edition of the oldest ATP Challenger in Spain, while in the women’s category, the Russian Mirra Andreeva became the youngest champion of the tournament.

Grenier won 7-5 and 6-3 in 107 minutes of the match against his compatriot Constant Lestienne in the outcome of the Segovian event, improving the semifinals he reached in 2019 and 2021 with a title. The Frenchman cut his compatriot’s streak in the Spanish ATP Challengers, since Lestienne had won in Malaga and, last week, in Pozoblanco.

Meanwhile, Andreeva defeated the Spanish Eva Guerrero in two sets by 6-4 and 6-2 and, at 15 years old, became the youngest winner of the tournament. The Russian completed a perfect week, coming from the previous one and without giving up a set until she won the title.
