3-2: Nagelsmann debuts with defeat at Bayern

Bayern lost their first friendly on Saturday under the command of their new coach, Julian Nagelsmann. The German champions, without their internationals, fell to Cologne 3-2 in Villingen.

Nagelsmann's team took the lead thanks to Armindo Sieb in the 6th minute. But Cologne decided with a goal from Jan Thielmann (20 ') and a double from Mark Uth (28' and 56 '). Bayern's other goal was scored by Joshua Zirkzee (34 ').

In addition to Nagelsmann, the two summer signings, Dayot Upamecano and Omar Richards. they also debuted with Bayern. As the internationals are still on vacation, the new coach of the Bavarian team gave many young people the opportunity to play.

The first goal was the work of a youth squad: Sieb reacted quickly when a ball fell on his feet in the area and shot from about 15 meters. But after a quick steal, Thielmann stood alone against Ulreich and leveled the score.

Colonia picked up momentum and Uth again overtook his team with an acrobatic shot. Bayern responded through Taylor Booth, who took a ball in the vicinity of the rival area and the team combined well for Zirkzee to score.

The 3-2 was the work of Uth, who finished unopposed by a center by Florian Kainz. Bayern also created chances, such as a shot by Lucas Copado. In '71, Nagelsmann's men had their goalkeeper, Ron-Thorben Hoffman, to thank for winning a heads-up against Tim Lemperle. Shortly after, Copado failed to finish off a center from Bouna Sarr by a few millimeters.

In the final minutes Bayern raised the pressure but failed to create clear scoring chances.

Donation for flood victims

In addition, within the framework of this match, together with their partner Telekom, Bayern and Cologne gave a donation of 100,000 euros for the victims of the floods in Germany.
