Dominican Republic he thrashed by 0-6 a Eel this Saturday to sign his second victory in the qualifying rounds of the Qatar World Cup 2022, which allows it to position itself as the leader of Group D.
Dorny Romero and Nowend Lorenzo, Osasuna Spanish youth, with two goals each, guided the easy victory of the Dominicans against a team from Anguilla that was not able to cause problems for their rivals at any point in the game.
The Dominican team, despite having made nine changes to its starting eleven, today did have the forcefulness that it lacked in its debut in the qualifying rounds, when it beat Dominica by a tight 1-0.
The rotations required by the sanitary measures imposed by the United States were not an inconvenience due to the facilities offered by Anguilla, the penultimate selection of the world rankings.
Dorny Romero was one of the reinforcements of the team, after having played the Pre-Olympic in Mexico, and his participation was decisive with two goals and one assist.
The scoring account was opened precisely by Romero from a penalty in the 21st minute, giving way to five minutes of overwhelming play by the Dominicans, in which they scored three goals in a row.
The second came from a shot from Nowend Lorenzo, after a good pass from Luis Ramírez from the left wing; and the third was the work of Romero, in a shot in the area after a corner kick.
The early win allowed the Dominicans to lift their foot off the accelerator somewhat until halftime, to return in the second half with renewed momentum to round it out.
In the second half, the Dominican superiority grew as time went by, before an increasingly tired and depressed Anguilla team.
Nowend Lorenzo scored the fourth on the first play of the second half, Domingo Peralta made the fifth after a cross from Romero and Luis Espinal rounded the score with a header.
The Dominican Republic leads Group D alone with six points, awaiting the game this Sunday between Panama and Dominica.
