Zverev: “Alcaraz is the best in the world, he’s going to be number one”

After the harsh correction he suffered during the Mutua Madrid Open final, Alexander Zverev only had words of praise for Carlos Alcaraz. The German, number three in the world, he highlighted the level at which his rival is, whom he said is “the best player in the world”. These are Zverev’s words after the final against the Spaniard.

Carlos Alcaraz: “First, congratulations to Carlitos. Right now, you are the best player in the world. You already beat us being ‘five years old’. You are a new superstar, you are going to win Grand Slam and be number one. You are going to win this tournament many times. It’s great to see someone like you. Carlos’s team, we worked together, not for long, and congratulations on what you’re achieving.”

Madrid: “This is my favorite tournament in the world and I’m happy to be here, even though I lost like this today it’s still my favorite track. I’m sorry to the fans because it wasn’t the best final, but it was an incredible tournament”.
