Zidane has Mayoral

Zidane has Borja Mayoral. The one from Parla has been training with the rest of the squad in Valdebebas from day one. It is one more. And as such sees the French coach, who has in mind to include him in the call for the league debut against Real Sociedad at the Real Arena (9:00 p.m., Movistar LaLiga).

The youth squad is a player that the coach likes a lot. In addition, he has the full confidence of the board, who see him as a footballer who will be important for the club in the future. Therefore, despite the large number of offers that have arrived this summer, the club's roadmap was always the same: include an option that would allow his return in the future. Either by selling only 50% of his rights (that was negotiated with Valencia) or including a future right of first refusal.

However, the good performance of Mayoral in training during these weeks has convinced Zidane, that he has seen a footballer much more mature than the one who went to Levante two years ago. He always liked it, although now he sees him ready to have really important minutes.

In any case, that he has Mayoral against Real Sociedad does not mean that Parla's is going to stay in the squad. An option that is not ruled out, but not taken either. It will be decided in the next few days. Zidane has numerous casualties in attack for the league debut (Asensio, Hazard, Isco, Jovic, Lucas and Mariano) and he will not hesitate to have a footballer in whom he fully trusts.

Mayoral, meanwhile, remains calm. He has on the table offers from Valencia, Levante, Lazio, Fiorentina and Marseille. Top-tier clubs that yearn for him. His contract with Madrid (until June 2021) allows him to have decision-making power this summer. His dream, he has never hidden it, is to succeed at the Bernabéu and he has always gone hand in hand with the club in all the decisions he has made in his career. That is why now he remains calm, aware that he will have in his hand to choose the option that most seduces him to continue his promising career. It can be in another club … or in 'his' Madrid of a lifetime.
