Zidane, a hopeless wait

Real Madrid will have a very quiet last market day. The crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic caused the club to make a decision regarding this transfer market: He was not going to make any incorporation beyond the return of the loaders that Zidane considered. The chosen ones have been Odegaard and Lunin and they are the only new faces this season.

The economic crisis made exits a priority. And in that sense, Madrid can consider its market a success. Reguilón, James, Bale, Achraf … Players who Zidane did not have and others who have made cash have left. The objective is accomplished.

And the more time he spends in the stands, the more complicated it seems that no club is going to take care of the more than 4 million net per season it charges.

In short, Madrid faces a very quiet last market day. They are open to hear offers for Mariano and little else. The entry chapter is closed and news is only expected in the exit chapter if a juicy offer arrives for a player to whom Zidane opens the door. Something that, for the moment, is almost ruled out …

The club's eyes are already set on the summer of 2021. That is where Mbappé can get within reach and they also intend to strengthen the midfield. The goals of Camavinga and Fabián have now been joined by Aouar, the 22-year-old Lyon midfielder whom Zidane publicly praised. But that one, the arrivals one, will be a chapter that opens next year.
