Zac Taylor says that Bengals star quarterback Joe Burrow sprained his right wrist in a loss by the Ravens.
Joe Burrow hurt his right wrist and couldn’t play in Week 11 when the Bengals played the Ravens.
The quarterback for Cincinnati went to the locker room in the middle of the second quarter because he hurt his throwing hand.
He was first marked as “questionable” to return, but then that was changed to “questionable” and he was taken out for the remainder of that night, which helped the Ravens win 34–20.
Before the game, that wrist was talked about because of a picture on social media of Burrow getting off the squad’s bus in Baltimore with some kind of wrap in that hand.
Burrow threw a touchdown pass towards running right back Joe Mixon to end a 12-play, 82-yard score drive. It was clear that Burrow was hurting when he made the throw.
Trainees in the dark medical room then looked at him. When Burrow got out of the tent, he tried to throw a few passes from the benches.
Head coach Zac Taylor stated after the game that it looked like Burrow hurt his hand during the play.
Prime Video cams caught Burrow fumbling the ball out of his hand on his second try. The quarterback was seen shaking his head, as if he knew he couldn’t get a hold of it.
The 26-year-old left the playing field in five minutes left within the second quarter of Thursday’s 34-20 loss for the Bengals. Following his touchdown pass with Joe Mixon, Burrow knelt down in pain.
Before walking off the field into the locker room to get additional treatment, Burrow spent a few minutes within the medical tent. Images on TV showed that his wrist was swollen.
The Bengals’ new quarterback is Jake Browning. The team is now 5-5 on the season while sitting at the bottom in the tough AFC North division.
The Ravens are now 8-3 and are in first place in the AFC North. Quarterback Lamar Jackson threw for 264 yards and three scores in the win.
Burrow was the first player picked in the 2020 NFL draft. He led the Bengals into the Super Bowl in 2022, but they lost with the Los Angeles Rams.
Coach Taylor of Cincinnati said after the match that Burrow had broken his right wrist and that he had “no idea” of when he would be able to play again.

He didn’t come back after leaving the game within the second quarter. Off to the side, he was attempting to throw but couldn’t hold the ball and looked like he was in a lot of pain.
When he left, Burrow had completed 11 out of 17 passes, gaining 101 yards and a score. having the Bengals down 14–10, backup quarterback Jake Browning took over for him.
After halftime, Burrow went back to the bench, but he didn’t come back into the game as Cincinnati got the ball to start the third quarter.
Early in the season, Burrow hurt his leg, but he hasn’t missed a game this year. Since the beginning of the 2021 season, he has missed just one game while taking Cincinnati to each AFC title games or a trip to the Super Bowl.
Now, it’s not clear whenever Burrow will be able to play when the defending AFC North winners play Pittsburgh at home on November 26 to try to get back on track. Around that time, he was ruled out.
The Bengals (5-5) have had a crazy year. They started out 1-3, then won four straight games, but on Sunday they lost 30-27 at home to Houston. Burrow’s injury is just one more blow to them.
