MADRID, 14 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Venezuelan midfielder Yangel Herrera has signed this Friday for Girona FC, a club with which he already played last year on loan and with which he now reaches an agreement for the next four seasons, as announced by the Catalan team in a release.
Herrera, 25, thus becomes Girona’s third signing for the coming seasons, after the signings of the Dutchman Daley Blind and the Brazilian ‘Savinho’. The Venezuelan already played on loan at Girona last season, playing a total of 20 games.
His experience in the First Division is extensive, adding 140 games with Girona, Espanyol, Huesca and Granada in the highest category of Spanish football. In addition, he has gone through the lower categories of Venezuela, with which he made his senior debut in 2016, and so far he has played 27 matches.
Yangel started his professional career in Venezuela in 2016, at the age of 18. A year later he signed for Manchester City, although he played on loan at New York City FC until December 2018. In January 2019, he made the leap to Spanish football.
