Xavi: “This Clásico can change the dynamics of the present and the future”

MADRID, 20 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The FC Barcelona coach, Xavi Hernández, acknowledged his happiness at winning with a landslide (0-4) at the Santiago Bernabéu this Sunday and confessed that it could mean a change of dynamics, without considering it impossible to fight for LaLiga Santander.

“Very happy for what this victory represents, it can change the dynamics of the present and the future a little. We had the game very controlled, very well in high pressure. We created many chances, in attacking movements that we trained, we were able to do more goals,” he said at a press conference.

The Catalan coach insisted on another demonstration of how Barça has to play, with an increasingly reinforced idea. “This is the path, this is the perfect model and game idea for Barça, we have players who understand or are understanding the game. We are a very good family in the locker room. You can compete playing this way,” he said.

“It’s a day that Barcelona fans have to enjoy because lately we haven’t had much joy, we’ve told ourselves that this is the way, it’s the project. We’ve been much better than a Madrid team that was leading on a spectacular run,” he added .

Xavi confessed that the League is still complicated but not impossible. “It’s difficult, we’ve won, goal-average too, but it’s difficult, Madrid have to lose three games, but we can’t rule it out. For me as a coach it means a lot, I’m a novice at this and it reinforces me a lot. Barcelona has to compete playing this way”, aimed.

“It reminds me a bit of the 1-2 in 2004, but we can’t stay here, this is only three points, it doesn’t mean any title. We have to continue working with humility and solidarity, the objectives have not been met. Barça, I feel for this club, and we are going to celebrate it. It is very difficult to win 0-4 at the Bernabéu, playing football so well and I am very happy for the players,” he added.

In addition, the culé coach made it clear that his team must always compete at 100%, which is why he got angry during phases of the second half at the Bernabéu. “Losing balls has to bother us and piss us off a lot. If there are no demands, there are no results, we could have played better in the second half,” he concluded.
