The fifth and penultimate day was held with a wind maintained at around 18-20 knots that propelled the teams that have been competing for the world crown at Club Nàutic S’Arenal since last Tuesday. In the Gold Group, with the 31 best from the Qualifying Series, two intense battles were fought for the long-awaited ten places in the Medal Race that will decide the title.

The Spaniards won the first test of the day with authority and were sixth in the second to complete the Final Series with a solid lead of eleven points over the British Vita Heathcote and Chris Grube and 16 over the defending champions, the Japanese Keiju Okada and Miho Yoshioka.
