Eibar (Gipuzkoa), Jul 15 (EFE) .- The Biscayan player Xabi Etxeita, born in Amorebieta in 1987, has become the eighth reinforcement of the Eibar Sports Society for the 21/22 season.
Etxeita has signed for one season, until June 2022.
33-year-old central defender, the one from Amorebieta comes to the armory entity after having finalized his contract with First Division Getafe, a team in which he has played the last two seasons.
An experienced defender, Etxeita has played a total of 148 matches in the First Division and 111 in the Second Division and also has experience in European competitions (2 Champions League matches and 25 UEFA Europa League matches).
In his long professional career he has defended the shirts of Getafe, Athletic, Huesca, Elche, Cartagena and Amorebieta, among others.
Etxeita signs for one season with the option of extending it for one more season and will be presented to the media this Friday in the Ipurua press room at 9.45.
It is the third reinforcement of this season in the armera rear after those of Glauder and the Portuguese Venancio.
