In the late stages of the first half, the Chargers’ starting pitcher Justin Herbert hurt his right finger. He was hit by Zach Allen on a fourth-down pass that wasn’t caught with 3:11 left within the second quarter. He then went to the locker room.

Aside from the game, Herbert viewed the second half with his right hand in the pocket inside his hoodie. In terms of offense, the Broncos ran for over 100 yards and only lost one ball.

At the end of the day on Sunday, he was 9 of 17 for 96 yards and an interception that set up a three-yard drive for the Broncos. He also had four hits. In place of Herbert, Easton Stick went 13-for-24 for 179 yards or lost a fumble.

In the Broncos’ first division road victory since 2019, they shut out the other team in the first half and made a number of big plays in offense to never trail.

The Broncos slowed into Chargers qb Justin Herbert until he left the game with an injury near the end for the first half. They also kept doing well against Easton Stick, a backup quarterback.

Russell Wilson’s touchdown pass to Courtland Sutton in the second half was the game’s high point. He then added another touchdown pass for Adam Trautman in the last few minutes to make the final score.

The Chargers should have scored on that short field, but they failed to do so on a 4th-and-3 at the Broncos’ 6-yard line. Denver kicked the ball away after getting it back deep within their own territory.

On the next drive for L.A., pass rusher Baron Browning tipped a pass by Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert, which was then picked off by Jonathon Cooper and returned four yards to the 3-yard line.
The next play, Broncos quarterback Javonte Williams pushed it in, making the score 7-0.

Later, in the second quarter, Los Angeles had a 4th-and-2 situation with a field goal in reach, but they missed again. Denver got the ball back that its own 30-yard territory with 3:11 left in the first half. After that, the Broncos lost three and out.

On their last run before halftime, Los Angeles switched out Herbert, who hurt his finger, for backup quarterback Easton Stick.

Right away, Stick went three-and-out. Denver then moved 65 yards before settling on a 23-yard field goal by Wil Lutz to go into halftime ahead 10-0.

The Chargers had a 4th-and-1 at the Broncos’ 40-yard line in the second half, but they failed to convert. It was their third loss on downs of the game.

After four plays, Wilson threw a touchdown pass of 46 yards to wide target Courtland Sutton, making the score 17-0.

Los Angeles finally made it on a fourth-down play in their final quarter, but they lost the ball on downs afterward that same drive. In the end, the Chargers were 0 for 12 on rd down and 1 for 6 on fourth down.

Once Denver kicked the ball off, Los Angeles quarterback Austin Ekeler capitalized on a three-yard run in the fourth quarter, making the score 17–7.

A touchdown pass from Wilson to tight conclude Adam Trautman from 10 yards out tied the score and made it 24–7. In the end, that was the score.
