Wimbledon, the reason for Kate Middleton’s latest and ‘shy’ comeback

On June 15th, Kate Middleton The Princess of Wales reappeared after around five months away from public life. It was at the celebration of Charles III’s birthday, at the Trooping the Colour, when she attended an event for the first time after announcing in March that she has cancer. What’s more, the Princess of Wales, despite being immersed in a preventive chemotherapy treatment, warned a few days ago in a statement that her intention is to return little by little to public life as long as her condition and her recovery allow it. Said and done. This Saturday, the mother of George, Charlotte and Louise reappeared on the occasion of the Wimbledon tournament.

It is true that on Thursday the British Royal Family announced that, as long as circumstances permit, the Princess of Wales would preside over the grand final of the All England Tennis Club in London, scheduled for next weekend. For eight years, the wife of William of England has been presenting these trophies, starring in images that will go down in history. In the last edition, in 2023, she presented the award to Carlos Alcaraz from Murcia.

However, Kate was quick to make a timid appearance on social media on Saturday. As a sponsor of the tournament and a tennis lover, she did so to pay tribute to tennis player Andy Murray on the day of his retirement: “An incredible run at Wimbledon comes to an end. You must be very proud. On behalf of all of us, thank you.”he wrote on his official Instagram profile.

A comeback that shows that the princess is closely following the competition’s matches. Kate Middleton’s passion for tennis dates back to her childhood. In fact, she only missed Wimbledon once, in 2013, when she was pregnant with Prince George.

Those who did enjoy the fourth day of the tournament a few days ago were their parents, Michael and Carole Middleton. Smiling and happy, Carole wore a spectacular floral print dress, combined with an elegant white jacket. Michael opted for a blue shirt, yellow tie and navy blue jacket.

Prince William at the Euro Cup

While his wife was closely following the tournament at Wimbledon, Prince William travelled to Germany to enjoy the match between England and Switzerland, which ended with the victory of the British team: “Nail biting until the end. Well done. Semi-finals, here we come. We believe!”he said on his social networks.
