Wimbledon | Carla Suárez: “It will be very special to feel the affection of the public”

Carla Suárez will begin this Tuesday the last participation of her career in the final draw at Wimbledon. The Spanish will experience a very special debut measuring World No. 1 Ashleigh Barty on the grass at Wimbledon Center Court.

“I am very happy to be here for the last time,” Carla highlights. “Wimbledon is a very important tournament for us on the calendar. After it was canceled last year, I am looking forward to it even more. It is a very historic tournament and I have a difficult challenge ahead of me. I am looking forward to the game and being able to enjoy these courts once again ”.

Carla will step onto the Center Court at Wimbledon for the second time in her career, having competed on London's main court against Venus Williams in the 2013 season.

“It is a tournament where I have very good memories. It has always been special for me to come to the All England Club because of the enormous respect they have for the athlete. Even with a limited attendance of spectators, it will be very special to be able to feel the affection of the public in London again. It is a tournament that I love and that I will always remember fondly ”.

Carla has completed a career packed with experience at the All England Club in London. The islander has participated up to 10 times in the main draw at Wimbledon, becoming one of the Spanish players with the longest history in the grassy Grand Slam.
