In Vox there has been a real stir since this Tuesday, August 8, when Ivan Espinosa de los Monteros confirmed his departure from the party Santiago Abascal. The formation, in the last elections of 23 J, lost a total of 19 seats compared to the results obtained in the 2019 elections.
Macarena Olona, a former deputy who went to war with the party shortly after announcing her departure in July last year, sent a message of support to Espinosa de los Monteros on social networks. The former deputy would be unhappy with the loss of seats and would have entered into disputes with the party leadership, with which he would not be very happy on certain ideological and organizational issues, according to what he said The world. His wife, Rocío Monasterio, for the moment, continues to lead the party in the Madrid Assembly.
The departure of Espinosa de los Monteros as a deputy in the Congress of Deputies and spokesman for the Parliamentary Group has caused the movement of chips. The doctor Juan Luis Steegmann has resigned to collect the record that remains vacant and this has given way to Carla Toscano, deputy spokesperson for Vox in the Madrid City Council and number 2 of Ortega Smith, who from now on will occupy Espinosa’s seat of the Monteros in the Lower House. In Congress, she has served until the end of this legislature as deputy spokesperson for Vox in the Congressional Equality Commission.
Two weeks ago he wrote on Instagram: “An honor to have been able to defend these years in Congress the equality before the law of all Spaniards, the presumption of innocence, the family, life, freedom, justice, biological reality and above everything, the Good, the Beauty and the Truth”.
In the photograph that he attached, he appears wearing one of the shirts with which he has generated the most controversy: #NotMeToo. The policy is against the feminist movement that was born in the United States as a result of the accusations of sexual abuse against the film producer Harvey Weinstein. Among the shirts that he has also worn publicly: “Que te vote Txapote”, “I love Patriarchy” (I love the patriarchy), “Stop Feminazis” or “Make Men Great Again” (Make men great again).
Partly because of his provocative shirts, Toscano has become a media face of the party in recent months. He also generated controversy due to his controversial attacks on Irene Montero, the still Minister of Equality. “His only merit of his is having studied Iglesias in depth,” he snapped at him in November last year in Congress, causing great indignation on the left-wing bench.
Toscano is 45 years old. She is the mother of two children and as a young woman she was a photographer, as she published The world. On Instagram he has just over 27,000 followers. On his social networks he says that from the ultra-conservative party he works “for Truth, Good and Beauty”. In Vox she is defined as a “humanitarian aid specialist”.
Carla Toscano, graduated in Law, has also been a Spokesperson in the Gender Violence Commission. He writes such statements on his social networks: “For feminism, criticizing a woman is macho (less if it’s from Vox, of course). So, if a woman does something wrong or we don’t like something about her, you can’t say. But if it’s a man, yes. Is this equality?”
He was born in Madrid, also lives in Madrid and has a house in Jerez de la Frontera. He also owns 37.7% of six farms in Asturias, according to his 2022 asset declaration.
