What the Covid has changed in the Premier

Covid-19 continues to affect football, as well as all aspects of society. In the Premier, which is again played without an audience due to the worsening of infections, the Tottenham-Fulham match (initially scheduled for December 30) will be played this Wednesday due to the meeting of José Mourinho's team against Aston Villa was postponed because of the coronavirus outbreak at the Birmingham club. On the other hand, the stoppage in 2019-20 due to Covid-19 left Premier League players without the winter holidays established in said season.

On the other hand, Fulham's game against Chelsea, scheduled for Friday, will take place on Saturday. And Villa, who was due to re-receive Everton on Saturday, will do so on Sunday, once the Premier calendar has been reviewed. The match between Fulham and Spurs was initially scheduled for December 30, but was postponed due to a Covid-19 outbreak in the Craven Cottage complex. There is a domino effect.

The winter break that had been established in the Premier in 2019-20 was canceled this season because the English championship could not start until September 12 due to the stoppage in the previous one due to the coronavirus.

As a novelty, matchday 18 will be played divided into two halves of the week (18 A and 18 B). This will lead to an extra weekend to play the 24th in February. However, this will mean that Liverpool will be more rested than their next rival, Manchester United, with whom they will play the lead: the Premier League champions played on Friday against Aston Villa and will not do so until Sunday against the from Old Trafford at Anfield. On the other hand, United disputes their postponed match against Burnley on Tuesday.
