One of the most successful Dutch footballers in recent years is undoubtedly Giovanni van Bronckhorst, who worked as a left winger, although his versatility also allowed him to act as a left wing or pivot, depending on the requirements of the team where he was.
Van Bronckhorst had an educated left leg and began his professional career at RKC Waalwijk in the Netherlands, later arriving at Feyenoord in Rotterdam. After five years in the football of his country, the defender tried his luck in other nations parading through the Rangers of Scotland, Arsenal of England and Barcelona of Spain. He finally returned to the Netherlands in 2007 to play again with Feyenoord from Rotterdam and retire there in 2010.
The renowned defender won titles with almost all the clubs where he played and his record is one of the widest for a footballer from his country in recent years, being made up of the following: two Netherlands Cups with Feyenoord; one Scottish League Cup, two Scottish Cups and two Scottish Premier League with Rangers; a Premier League and two FA Cups with Arsenal, as well as a UEFA Champions League, two league titles and two Spanish Super Cups.
At the national level, Giovanni van Bronckhorst participated with the Netherlands in the World Cups of France 1998, Germany 2006 and South Africa 2010, as well as in the Eurocups of 2000, 2004 and 2008.
Upon his retirement as a professional gamer, Van Bronckhorst decided to remain linked to football, he prepared himself to be a coach and currently has a UEFA Pro License. Between 2015 and 2019 he managed Feyenoord Rotterdam and in 2020 he joined the Guangzhou City bench in the China League. At the moment he is without a team, but he is waiting for a new opportunity on the bench.
