“We have not been lucky”

Barcelona coach Xavi Hernández admitted that fortune has not accompanied his team in the draw for the round of 16 of the Cup, where they will face Athletic in San Mamés. “We have not had luck because it is a difficult rival, with one of the best coaches in LaLiga, and we played away from home again,” argued the new coach of the culé team during the press conference prior to today’s league match against Granada .

The two kings of Cups, whose last confrontation ended in favor of the Barça team at La Cartuja in Seville last April with a resounding 0-4, will face each other again, but this time in the round of eighth and in the always complicated rojiblanco stadium.

Xavi, who did not spend much time talking about this duel against the lions, described the cup crossing as “very complicated”. The Barça team coach predicts that it will be “very difficult” to qualify for the quarterfinals of the competition.
